Visitors

Calvary Chapel Bible College Seattle welcomes visitors who wish to view the campus. Informative tours of the campus and classroom visits can be arranged by calling the Administrative Office at 425.775.3422.

Visitors or friends who wish to stay the night are welcome. Students often ask friends to visit on the weekends or stay the night at the dorms. Friends can stay at the dorms if you first: (1) Check with your dorm steward and the rest of your house – remember to esteem others as yourself. (2) Check with the Dean of Women or Men respectively – obviously no girls in the boys’ house or boys in the girls’ house. Friends should not stay in the dorms longer than two nights.

We cannot allow any parents, older family members, or older friends to stay in the dorms during, before, or after the semester. Those who stay in the dorms must be of the same gender and peer group as the students at CCBC Seattle.

Dormitory Information

Accommodations

The experience of “dorm life” at Calvary Chapel Bible College Seattle introduces many students to living on their own and taking care of themselves. Students who stay on campus will stay in housing in the neighborhoods surrounding the church. Each house or apartment will be equipped with adequate living needs (i.e. kitchen, laundry, etc.) to allow the student to fully take care of himself or herself.

Each student will be assigned a single twin bunk bed, along with enough drawer and closet space for approximately one suitcase of clothing. Students need to bring a set of twin sheets for bedding, towels and toiletries for hygiene, and clothing suitable for mild and wet temperatures.

Each dorm will have a dorm steward or pair of dorm stewards who oversee the general health of the house. You can count on the dorm steward(s) to: maintain a clean house, provide weekly chore instructions, organize a time for dorm devotions and prayer, and answer any general questions.

Campus Housing Deposit ($25 Cleaning | $5 Key | $25 Damage | $55 total)

  • Deposit will be all or partially returned if dorm is left clean with no damage, and key is returned.
  • Deposit may be rolled over to the following semester for returning students.
  • For major damage, deposits will be kept collectively, unless particular student(s) take responsibility for the damage.

General Dorm Information

  • Items may be hung on the wall but please do not use nails or duct tape.
  • Garbage day in Mountlake Terrace is Wednesday. Have all garbage out by 6:30am on Wednesday morning. Be aware which garbage cans are waste, recycling, or yard waste, as the Northwest region operates a very strict recycling system.
  • Each dorm occupant should have received a key. Key replacements will cost $5 if key is lost. Keys must be turned in to the Administrative office before departure.

Policy on Receiving Mail

Addresses will be provided during move-ins and mail may be received at the house during the semester. Since CCBC Seattle rents some of its housing, students should complete a change of address form before the end of the semester. After the semester is completed, mail received at houses owned by CCBC Seattle or at the CCBC Office will be shredded for security.

Students can receive packages at the dorms or have them sent to Calvary Fellowship church at:

Dorm Food Money Allocation

Dorm students are responsible for purchasing their own food. Each semester, students will deposit $640 (included in the housing cost) from which they will receive $40 back per week for 16 weeks. It is each student’s responsibility to budget money, purchase food, and prepare meals. Every Tuesday, the dorm steward picks up each student’s food money from the Administrative Office and distributes it each student. Food money may be withheld if dorm- cleaning check is not met.

Dorm Cleaning Check

Every Monday night CCBC leadership will check each dormitory for cleanliness. Cleaning guidelines are posted at each dorm and every student will be required to help clean before cleaning check. If dorms are not clean, food money may be withheld until the dorm meets cleaning standards.

Transportation

If a student is living on campus, a car is not necessary, as all accommodations are within a 5-10 minute walk from campus.

If a student does decide to bring a car, each dorm has a limited number of parking spots, which makes the parking of multiple cars difficult and guest-parking troubling to neighbors. Please do not park on the lawn, in front of neighbors houses or in anyone’s way. Please park on the street or at the church. If you receive regular rides from students with cars we ask that you be respectful and help pay for gas. For extracurricular CCBC sponsored activities, transportation will be provided.
